Process of ISO 9001 Certification
Application & Consultation
The certification process begins with selecting an accredited certification body approved by IAF or NABCB and submitting the business application. During this stage, a consultation is conducted to assess the organization’s structure, operations, and the scope of certification, setting the foundation for the compliance journey.Gap Analysis & Documentation
A detailed gap analysis is then performed to evaluate where the existing business processes differ from the ISO 9001 requirements. Consultants guide the company in preparing essential documents such as the Quality Manual, Quality Policy, standard operating procedures, and process records to ensure alignment with international quality management standards.Internal Audit & Implementation
Before the official certification audit, an internal audit is carried out to measure readiness and detect non-conformities. This stage also involves staff training, fine-tuning of processes, and implementation of corrective actions to close any gaps and strengthen compliance with ISO 9001 guidelines.Certification Audit (Stage 1 & Stage 2)
The certification audit is conducted by accredited external auditors in two stages. The Stage 1 audit focuses on reviewing documents and checking system preparedness, while the Stage 2 audit is a more comprehensive evaluation of the organization’s implementation, effectiveness of processes, and compliance with ISO 9001 standards. Any issues identified during these audits must be resolved for certification to be approved.Certificate Issuance & Surveillance Audits
Once the organization successfully passes the certification audit, it is awarded the ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate, which remains valid for three years. To ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement, surveillance audits are conducted annually by the certification body during the validity period.
